News 04/23/08: High school and moderator recruitment
Recruiting High School Student Starts Next Week
We will be unveiling this project to current BNS students in the coming week (week of April 28th). We are finalizing the details of our presentation with Mr. Mickie and will begin recruitment of BNS students during that time.
And then the original goal of connecting alumni with current students will finally be achieved! We hope you will all find this a place to share and learn from each other as we each talk with BNS students and graduates.
Requesting Moderator
We are currently looking for moderators for each of our forums. The moderators will be asked to check in periodically in the forum of their choice (e.g. Simon Fraser Forum, or the Natural Sciences Career Forum) and check that the discussions are on-topic and respectful. Moderators will have their account modified so that they can move, edit, and delete posts in order to achieve this goal. If there is a forum you are interest in and would check periodically, and if you are interested in the moderator position, please contact either CHo05 or STsuei06 with a private message. We will recruit multiple moderators for each forum to minimize the work load.
If you have any questions about moderatorship in general, please contact CHo05 or STsuei06. We can teach new moderators how to utilize the tools they will be given.

Do you think we might need to try a different approach in advertising this forum to the current North students? It's been almost 3 weeks and we've only had a few new members

Haha, you have a point, and it actually does worry us a little bit.
I was thinking that the AP season last two weeks might be the thing that's having an effect on our activity. Hopefully we'll see more activity now that the AP season is over.
But let's brainstorm, any suggestions on how we can spread the news about Project Connect to current BNS studens? Currently Ms. Robinson has prepared a notice that she gave out to teachers last pro-D day (May 16th) so that teachers can advertise this forum on their doors. Ms. Robinson is also preparing something for the P.A.C. Any other approaches we can have? I'm trying to think whether social networking sites such as xanga and facebook would be nice placed to advertise... but alas, I don't use either.
